I cut wood, not cheese

Ever wonder where those darling buttons on my bags come from?? I’ll tell you where! My father’s cherry tree trimmings and some sexy arm power ;)

Last week, I headed down to my California neck of the woods – San Jose, baby. While visiting the folks, beer-ing with friends, soaking up a healthy dose of natural vitamin D, I squeezed in some time to make me some buttons!

I highly recommend everyone making their own – great way to use up those branches you have laying around ;) And who doesn’t like getting down with a saw and a power tool?!

Step 1: Slice up some branches in whatever size or thickness you desire. I especially love the buttons with gnarly knots in them.

Step 3: Vice and drill!

I like the creativity! A chop saw with finish blade is like the cheese slicer of wood…

Oohh, thanks! I was just thinking about that actually! Is the finish blade critical to use? My friend has a chop saw but I don’t know if he has that kind of blade…
